What does it mean when it says an item can be backordered / preordered?
Good question! We are very proud to be one of the few companies in the industry offering preorders/backorders! We do this as a convenience for our customers. Most companies do not deal with the headache of preorders/backorders, but we believe it's an opportunity to show value to our customers. Another added benefit of a preorder/backorder is your pricing is locked in! The industry is seeing substantial price increases and your pricing will not change on the item once placed. Our sophisticated systems include organized management of backorders / preorders to ensure that you have your spot in the line reserved and secured. We process your payment UPFRONT to reserve your spot, which is how we are able to lock in your pricing.
So what is a backorder / preorder?
Often we do not have enough demand for certain items to keep them on the shelves. A backorder / preorder triggers that item to either be manufactured from scratch or shipped from the manufacturer. The fastest way to get an item that is out of stock is to place a backorder. It adds you to the list and allows inventory to be allocated to you when the item is back in stock.
Oftentimes there is a fee to cancel a backordered / preordered item, so please ensure you want to keep your order when ordering anything stated as back ordered / preordered! These fees are typically 5% of the total purchase price. To learn more about the fees and why we charge them, please review this help article. Why was I charged a cancellation fee?
